Our Story

VOIDECK® is a light-weight modular suspended temporary flooring system for use in the building industry.

It fills void openings in floors where penetration is required to permit stair, lift, and other openings including atrium spaces.

VOIDECK® is designed to improve worksite safety standards in the construction industry by eliminating a fall zone from upper-level floors and floor pits and providing a safe working platform to undertake construction activities in and around the void area.

The system was developed over a seven-year period and introduced to the Australian Market in 2013. It has been used widely in that market since its introduction. The success of the original system in Australia encouraged the designer to think of the big picture and take the system to the market in New Zealand and internationally.

The VOIDECK® system (introduced to the New Zealand market in 2019) is a patented 2nd generation product that has been designed, manufactured, and Engineer Certified in New Zealand.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (the HSWA Act) sets out the performance required of duty holders. A duty holder is defined as a PCBU (Person Controlling a Business Undertaking) or their representative.

Duty holders must take all practicable steps to ensure the safety of workers when they are exposed to a fall or where the hazard of a fall exists. Where the potential of a fall exists, the following simple hierarchy of controls shall be considered by duty holders:

CONTROL THE HAZARD

Select the best work method to eliminate or minimise “as far as reasonably practicable” the hazard to protect workers from harm resulting from the significant hazard.

  1. Void areas on construction sites are high-risk fall zones.
  2. Can the job be done without exposing persons to the hazard (eliminate)?
  3. The Voideck Temporary Void Platform System is modular therefore it can be configured to eliminate the fall risk from void zones of any shape or size.

By installing Voideck on construction sites workers are protected from falls in void areas plus the PCBU and your Company Brand are both protected from the consequences of a worker suffering injuries from falling through the void.

VOIDECK® established a business in the Wellington Region in 2019 and has introduced the system to both the Residential and Commercial sectors of the Construction Industry. It is proposed to expand the business throughout New Zealand using a Franchise business model, and expand Internationally utilising the Intellectual Property of VOIDECK®, interested parties are invited to contact us for details.

The aim of VOIDECK® is to eliminate falls from heights in void areas in the construction industry.
